The money raised from this single will go directly towards the vital and life-saving services of The Welcome Organisation.
The Welcome Organisation is a Belfast-based charity that has been providing support services for people affected by homelessness since 1996.
Since the Coronavirus pandemic hit Welcome has had to significantly adapt it services to meet the demands of the pandemic.
Despite those challenges Welcome’s services have remained in place and they continue to provide potential life-saving support to some of the most vulnerable people In our communities.
Since the start of the pandemic Welcome’s Outreach team have been working closely with the Housing Executive to find temporary accommodation for anyone who is rough sleeping in the city. The Outreach team remain on the streets 17 hours a day.
Welcome’s Drop-in Centre has now reopened but has been working largely as a mobile service. Every day 120 freshly cooked hot meals are prepared and delivered to people who have been placed in temporary accommodation. The Drop-in also operates a laundry service where Welcome will collect laundry, clean it and deliver it.
Their Crisis Accommodation for Women has become a 24 hostel for five of the most vulnerable homeless women in Belfast (it was previously a night-time hostel). Two Welcome Support Workers are at the Crisis 24 hours a day.
Welcome’s Floating Support service has remained in place and continues to provide support for 100 people who have been homeless but are now in accommodation – providing them with any support they need to help retain their tenancies.
