Following the successful release of his debut LP Not Nearly Dark, Northern Irish troubadour Ciaran Lavery is pleased to announce the release of Other People Wrote These, a four-song EP reimagining classic hits from the late 70s -1980s by Talking Heads, Pat Benatar, Lionel Ritchie and Cyndi Lauper. Stripping these tunes to their bare essentials and rebuilding them with intricate acoustic arrangements, Ciaran Lavery's haunting vocals bring a new intensity to lyrics whose poetry has long remained under cover.
Best known for his earnest balladry, Other People Wrote These at the same time showcases a lighter side to the young folk musician, demonstrating that in addition to being one of the North's strongest songwriters, together with help from producer Michael Mormecha (Mojo Fury, Clown Parlour), Joshua Burnside & Rachael Boyd, Ciaran Lavery is a talented and imaginative instrumentalist and arranger.
